The One Act Play is for the
student with energy and dedication! Many hours of hard work go into the making
of the 30 minute play. Those who have participated in this process have enjoyed
the accolades at the end! Rehearsals begin in the Fall. The play then has the
opportunity to participate in a Regional Competition in January. The lucky
winners are then invited to the SCISA Literary Meet, usually held in early
February. The time put into this brings great rewards - camaraderie,
understanding, discipline, a fun activity and a great show for the school. |

The 2006-07
Production is Commercials |

She’s relaxing on the
couch watching TV when suddenly a box of detergent from a commercial
steps out of the screen and accosts her with a strong-armed sales pitch.
That amusingly frightening episode is followed by other weird
characters—even dog food and breath spray—doing the same thing. The
young woman being attacked screams with fright and audiences scream with
delight. This play vividly portrays the outrageous and ridiculous nature
of commercials which television viewers are constantly exposed to. For
all groups and audiences of all ages. |
